About Maulana Dotch
Maulana Dotch is a dual-certified PGA and LPGA Professional, accomplished golf industry leader, and General Manager of Hermann Park Golf Course in Houston, Texas. She made history as the first African-American woman PGA Member to serve as the general manager of a golf facility and is only the second African-American woman to earn PGA membership.
A native of Irving, Texas, Dotch was introduced to golf by her father, Emanuel Dotch, who encouraged her to learn the game, develop her talent, and pursue competitive opportunities. She advanced her junior golf career as a member of the men’s golf team at Irving High School. Her talent and dedication earned her a golf scholarship to Bethune-Cookman University, an HBCU in Daytona Beach, Florida, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. After college, she competed professionally for two seasons on the LPGA Futures Tour, now known as the Epson Tour.
Driven by her passion for making golf more inclusive and accessible, Dotch has led numerous programs serving junior golfers, women, veterans, and historically underrepresented communities. Her experience includes Golf 101, PGA Jr. League, PGA HOPE, The First Tee, Get Golf Ready, and women-focused organizations.
In 2022, Dotch founded Journey Through 18, a nonprofit organization that has grown to serve more than 200 girls ages 6–18. Based at Hermann Park Golf Course, home of the Houston LPGA*USGA Girls Golf program, the organization provides year-round golf instruction, mentoring opportunities, local social activities, and on-course experiences for girls throughout Houston.
Journey Through 18 supports girls throughout adolescence as they navigate their journey through 18 holes and toward the age of 18. As participants develop their golf skills, the organization prepares them for competitive and tournament opportunities while encouraging personal growth both on and off the course.

Serving the community through the game of golf has been more than a career, it’s a calling. Whether introducing a child to the game for the first time, mentoring young women, or helping adults discover new opportunities through golf, I believe the greatest reward is seeing people grow in confidence, build meaningful relationships, and realize their potential.
Whether I'm teaching a beginner, mentoring the next generation, or partnering with organizations to grow the game, my mission has always been the same: to use golf as a tool to inspire, empower, and positively impact the lives of others.
